We had such a great time last night at the race. K was sick and couldn't come :( but L and I had a ball. It's amazing how quickly eight hours can go by. It was overcast so not too hot, which made the mile uphill hike to the track relatively bearable. Matt Kenseth won (meh), but one of my three drivers finished top 12, so that's not so bad. And Jeff Gordon did *not* win, so I'm all about the "yay". And having three seats for two people worked really well, as I had room to scooch away from "elbow man", which I did not have last year (I think I still have bruises from his annoying sharp pokey elbows). We were quite awake at the end of the race and so decided to go ahead and come on home last night. We got back about two-ish, and it was very nice to sleep in this morning, in my own bed instead of an air mattress. Yay us, good call!
This was only L's second race, and it was fun to see everything through the eyes of someone who's so new to the sport.
One observation, courtesy of L: it is amazing to see what people will do to score a free marker!

And yes, three seats for two people generally works out about right. ;)
